The staff here are respectful and efficient with all guests, the location is wonderful just a few meters from Family Amusements Ltd, and it's only a 10-minute walk to downtown.

The hotel being opposite the sea was nice, the honeymoon suite was nice with bay window and seating area for breakfast etc. The oldness of the hotel made it quite romantic with creaky floorboards throughout upper floors. Nice and warm, with nice food, and fairly able staff.
I did not like the entrance to rear carpark, nasty drop from main road to entrance causing damage to the front of my car and making front foglamps unusable, mentioned to hotel receptionist who claimed it happens to her and other people. dog mess was everywhere at front entrance making it difficult to walk out, especially at night. the whirlpool in honeymoon suite (seaview) had not been regularly used and emitted foul smelling debris into water once in operation, this cleared the second time though. once these things are put right I would then and only then.....recommend this hotel.

The central location of this venue was perfect for me as it was close to a pub, the pier, leisure centre, and restaurants.

Location, parking.
Very, very shabby 1970's decor. Shampoo attachment-style shower the like of which I haven't seen since 1975.

Promixity to the beach, had room overlooking sea.
We went here over 20 years ago when it was a much higher star rating. sadly the hotel is in need of renovation in many places, both internally and externally.

The bathroom is clean, and the room is extremely spacious and huge, with a great location close to the coast.

The staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean and the food very good and we thought it was good value for money.
Though the paint work needed touching up in places this was not an issue if you look at the economics of the hotel, anyway when some guests seem to ill treat the rooms as we found (marked walls where chair had been lent on) Our main issue was we had 2 evening meals in the restaurant and would have had more if it were not for the fact we were told that whether we had 2 or 3 courses we would still be charged the same (£15. 95p) . We have never en-counted this in any other restaurant and feel a slight reduction £13. 95 ) would have been fairer you do not always want 3 courses, the only other thing was the water placed on the table was warm,no ice and when you are drinking a glass of nice cool wine, not very good, oh and the T.v in the room could have been tuned in better.

We had to vacate the neighboring b and b for one night so chose the M. It was tawdry and tatty by comparison - smells of old cigarettes, fixtures need replacing, the shower was hard to work and wasted water - there was no clock or tissues - the door creaked all night - it is not well soundproofed and the coffee at breakfast was cool and not very fresh! The one good thing was it had internet access.
